EAU Masterclass on Erectile Recovery and Peyronie's Disease

On October 1, I will be in Turin to participate in the EAU Masterclass on Erectile Restoration and Peyronie’s Disease, an intensive program dedicated to surgical and functional approaches to the treatment of erectile dysfunction and penile deformities.

These types of training programs are valuable: they focus not only on technical aspects, but also on the patient’s true goals—quality of life, self-image, self-confidence, and regained intimacy.

Debate: Does Penis Size Matter?

During the day, I also had the pleasure of participating in a long-awaited debate:

“Does penis size matter?”

In that discussion, I took the affirmative position, in contrast to sexologist Marieke Dewitte.

My position is simple: yes, size matters—not only in practical terms, but especially in subjective and psychological terms.

In my practice, I regularly see men who have no objective anatomical abnormalities but who suffer from the feeling that they are “not good enough.” This discomfort can have a major impact on their sex lives, their self-confidence, and their relationships.

It is not my intention to fuel unfounded insecurities, but rather to take these concerns seriously, initiate a dialogue, and guide each patient toward a solution that suits him or her. Whether it involves education, psychosexual support, or, in some cases, surgery, listening is the first step toward effective treatment.

A program focused on clinical reality

In addition to the debate, this master class will cover the following:

  • The latest surgical techniques for Peyronie's disease
  • Restoration of erectile function after prostatectomy
  • Involving the partner in the provision of care
  • and the growing importance of integrated approaches (surgery, sexology, rehabilitation)

I’m leaving Turin with new tools, new contacts, and the certainty that sexual medicine benefits from remaining humane, precise, and free of taboos.
