Statistics show that men don’t see a doctor often enough—and sometimes too late—for prostate and testicular cancer. That’s why urologist Sam Ward is urging men in a viral YouTube video to examine themselves more often. This initiative is part of the international Movember campaign.

In a lighthearted video, Clinique Saint-Jean encourages young men to examine their testicles themselves every month, after showering or bathing. “At that moment, the skin is relaxed,” explains urologist Sam Ward. “Men should check for lumps, swelling, or tender spots to detect cancer.”
Testicular cancer is the most common form of cancer among young men in Belgium. Early detection of the disease is crucial, as it can help avoid chemotherapy. “The treatment of testicular cancer is well established—about 98% of patients are cured—but early detection remains important,” said Dr. Ward.

In the video, Ward compares examining your conscience to tasting kiwis at the supermarket. Thanks to its lighthearted tone and playful nature, the video is currently going viral across the country. “I’m glad it’s being shared so often, because now people are talking about this topic,” concludes Dr. Ward.
